About The Position

This role involves collecting, preparing, testing, analyzing, and documenting samples to determine content and characteristics. The Quality Control Lead will use laboratory apparatus and testing equipment, enter findings into a cloud-based database, and collaborate with the ready-mix team using digital interfaces and other available tools.

Requirements

  • AAS degree in civil engineering, construction management, or concrete industry management desirable, or A combination of post-secondary education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • ACI Field Testing and Strength Testing Technician certification (currently hold or will acquire with training/certification).

Responsibilities

  • Collect, prepare, test, analyze, and document samples to determine content and characteristics.
  • Test samples using laboratory apparatus and testing equipment.
  • Enter findings in cloud-based database.
  • Collaborate with the entire ready-mix team using resources like digital interfaces, cloud-based databases and other tools available.
  • Perform updates and manage digital cloud-based databases to support ready-mix teams.
  • Communicate effectively with all applicable groups on updates and changes made within scope of ready-mix teams.
  • Collaborate with sales team and management by finding suitable mixes or materials for ready-mix projects.
  • Schedule QC team daily to provide feedback digitally to ready-mix teams by collaborating with sales and dispatch team.
  • Collaborate with supervisor to strengthen QC team and improve processes.
  • Increase interpersonal skills with technicians by assessing and delivering information to support QC team.
  • Conduct testing of Knife River ready-mix products and materials from various locations according to ASTM standards and/or State specifications.
  • Communicate field data with ready-mix team digitally after getting results.
  • Enter and update aspects of concrete mixes in cloud-based database.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
