About The Position

This role involves assisting in various quality control tasks within a laboratory setting. Key responsibilities include sample collection and testing, maintaining accurate records, coordinating sample shipments, and organizing incoming materials. The technician will also support regulatory and quality departments, stay updated on industry trends, and assist with validation activities. Environmental monitoring and data entry are also part of the role. The position requires proficiency in common computer software and a willingness to cross-train in other QC areas.

Requirements

One year minimum of experience in food industry or cosmetics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
B.S. degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field, preferred.
Familiarity with FTIR
Familiarity with Viscosity
Familiarity with Specific Gravity
Familiarity with pH
Familiarity with ATP machine
Familiarity with Biolumix
Familiarity with Moisture analysis

Responsibilities

Assist in collecting samples of products and maintaining the product/raw material testing/stability specifications.
Lab testing chain of custody form submissions
Keeping all QC testing logs updated with current test status
Aseptic sampling procedures
Coordinate shipment of samples to the customer or prepare for customer pickup.
Keep an updated list of current projects and samples shipped.
Organizing incoming raw material samples to appropriate projects/R&D Sample Inventory, including scanning COAs, MSDS, and specification sheets for incoming raw material samples to appropriate folders.
Assist Regulatory and Quality departments with product and ingredient information as needed.
Research and stay up to date with ingredients, clinical data, and products on the market.
Complete other projects as needed. (i.e., assisting in validation activities that require testing)
Environmental Monitoring / swabbing
Adequate knowledge of computer software; Excel, Word, Outlook.
Cross-train in additional areas of Quality Control / QC Inspection
