About The Position

Performs Quality Control duties by performing daily quality control of products to ensure standards and specifications are met. This includes recognizing and reporting all problems to the Manager, sending bad units to the repair area or departments, and sending defective units to the rejected parts area. The role also involves working with or advising team members on assigned rework projects, learning all processes for all machine models, and training subordinates. The inspector will assist with Daily QC Team Meetings to discuss schedule progress, updates, essential information, assignments, and projects, and prepare or conduct presentations for QC Monthly Meetings upon request. The position requires maintaining detailed logs, analyzing failures, processing root-cause analysis, closing RNC documentation, utilizing computers for documentation and reporting, and generating reports on common problems or trends. The inspector will keep QC management informed by reporting problems immediately and analyzing RNC data for improvements. Equipment maintenance includes routine checks, quality and safety checks, and maintaining an orderly and clean work area. Time and resource management are crucial for maximizing productivity and accomplishing tasks on time. Compliance with established procedures, including Tool Calibration, RNC or NCR Process, Customer Complaint, First Article, Receiving Inspection, Miscellaneous Jobs Process, Corrective Action Report, Internal Audit and Auditor, New Product Approval, Product Inspections, In-Process Inspections, and Final Inspections, is mandatory. The role may involve assisting with work instructions for job ease or training future employees. The inspector will learn and train subordinates on CMM testing and programming and provide effective customer service through professional communication. Contribution to the team effort includes flexibility in work assignments, covering for other staff, and accomplishing related tasks. Maintaining professional and technical knowledge through job-related certification, industry trends, and applying that knowledge is expected. The inspector must act on constructive feedback and improve processes by examining and recommending changes to departmental work processes, research procedures, and administrative procedures. Upholding work standards includes maintaining professional conduct and appearance, seeking assistance when needed, and using established communication channels. Understanding ISO9001 Quality Systems and procedures, developing and administering Reliability Information Systems, and supporting company policies, goals, objectives, ISO policies, and good quality control practices are key aspects of the role. Employees are required to speak only English during emergencies and while performing job duties where there is a potential for an emergency. Non-field-related positions require in-office work 5 days a week at the assigned branch office.

Requirements

  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be tactful, mature, flexible and able to successfully respond to multiple work tasks.
  • Knowledgeable in Basic Hand Tools.
  • Can Read and use Calipers, Micrometers and Tape Measure.
  • Able to read engineering drawings.
  • Must be able to use a computer and such applications as Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel, and be able to design custom reports as needed.
  • Familiar with the Metric System since Amada uses it on all its applications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written in English.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and sense of understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is a plus.
  • Understand and/or worked on CMM a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains equipment by performing routine maintenance duty for tools and equipment.
  • Regularly performs quality and safety checks.
  • Ensures work area is orderly and clean.
  • Reports problems immediately to Management verbally or in writing.
  • Manages time and resources by using company resources efficiently to maximize productivity and accomplish tasks on time.
  • Learns and follows all policies and procedures of the department to work efficiently and to meet the expectations of the Company.
