About The Position

This role will be responsible for following established Quality Control Inspection Protocols and Inspection Check Point Guidelines. This includes checking aesthetics, color matching, symmetrical sewing and assembly, and functionality of product and components/features. The Quality Control Inspector must be observant and possess analytical and problem-solving skills. Other responsibilities include the detailed recording and reporting of all inspection findings, including any defects or abnormalities observed during each inspection, with findings to be recorded into existing Inspection Report templates. Daily, primary inspection duties to be focused on random spot checking of select, high volume incoming product deliveries which are to typically be designated by the QA Manager in conjunction with the warehouse planning / receiving team. Spot checking of lesser volume deliveries will be required when necessary. The QC Inspector will conduct inventory inspections according to AQL sample size protocols in response to customer/consumer complaints, or concerns from any given source. The QC Inspector will be responsible for conducting immediate inventory inspections as requested by the QC Manager, along with performing routine Incoming product inspections of incoming product receipts. Maintain Quality Control Department email inbox to manage the queue of projects daily Responsible for following Quality Control Inspection Protocols and Inspection Check Point Guidelines including visual inspection of product aesthetics and potential component/material color matching issues Inspect the symmetry of assembled parts and sewn fabrics and textiles on/in the finished travel luggage and bag products Assist Quality Assurance Manager in validating/invalidating and resolving customer complaints and concerns that are found through inventory inspections when quality defects are identified Test the functionality of all product components during inspections to ensure proper functionality (this includes but is not limited to checking zippers, wheels, telescopic handles, carry handles, etc.) Record and report all inspection findings in a detailed manner, including any defects or abnormalities observed during each inspection, including QC spot check inspections, 100% inspections, and sorting projects. Conduct routine incoming product inspetions of incoming product receipts during periods where there are no 100% inventory inspections, sorting projects, or rework projects. This includes performing random spot checks on select high volume incoming product deliveries along with lesser volume deliveries as assigned by the QC Manager. Assist the QC Manager in working with the Receiving Supervisor, to identify incoming containers and flag them for routine incoming product inspections. Supervise rework projects under the guidance of the QC Manager by overseeing the project through its entirety. This includes leading and providing clear rework instructions to the ‘rework crew’, assigning “QC checker(s)”, to ensure the proper rework methods are followed, and maintaining process flow and efficiency for optimization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years Quality Assurance Experience
  • Highly proficient in SAP for inventory
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Must possess keen observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in operating a forklift – certification thru in-house testing is available
