Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Ability to manage time wisely to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Must be an independent worker, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision.
  • Able to learn how to use inspection tools and equipment, perform delicate operations and processes, and work well with others.
  • Able to multi-task with attention to detail as required.
  • Able to write legibly so that handwritten work can be read.
  • Knowledge of basic math.
  • Ability to read and understand prints and drawings, dimensions and tolerances, specifications, and other technical document information.
  • Demonstrate good time management, planning/organization, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with individuals at all levels and functions of the business.
  • Must have a good attitude when interacting with people while accomplishing work and achieving quality goals.
  • Proficient at using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and the internet.
  • Fast learner, driven problem solver.
  • Occasional standing, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation.
  • Able to work with a moderate level of noise.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and perform First Article Inspections (FAI) for new or modified products to ensure they meet manufacturing specifications and requirements.
  • Inspect and approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting or returning unacceptable materials.
  • Inspect and approve in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, or labeling and quarantining non-conforming materials.
  • Generate rework instructions where necessary, and monitor and validate that rework is performed properly before returning items to production inventory or flow.
  • Inspect and monitor production tooling, fixtures, and equipment to ensure they are within calibration.
  • Inspect and approve finished products by confirming specifications per customer drawings and specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, or labeling and quarantining non-conforming material.
  • Inspect and validate that finished products are packaged appropriately and safely into designated packaging.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing rework and waste, and recording data into the quality database.
  • Maintain Materials Review Board (MRB) materials until they are properly dispositioned and present data and reports to the MRB committee.
  • Assist Quality leadership with large projects or tasks as needed.
  • Assist with establishing Statistical Process Control (SPC) controls on the production floor.
  • Manage documentation, ensuring their integrity and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Verify and manage customer returns and exchanges.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Stop any nonconforming process(es) that may affect safety, quality, or customer satisfaction.
  • Report any halted nonconforming process(es) to the production manager, quality department, and/or process engineer.
