About The Position

The Quality Control Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring that all manufactured products meet stringent quality standards before reaching customers. This position involves conducting thorough inspections of machined aerospace parts and assemblies using a variety of precision measurement tools and techniques. The inspector is responsible for identifying defects, verifying compliance with specifications, and documenting inspection results to support continuous improvement efforts. By performing final and first article inspections, the role helps maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction. Ultimately, the Quality Control Inspector contributes to the overall manufacturing process by preventing defective products from advancing through production or shipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of NADCAP, AS9100, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GDT).
  • Proven experience in quality control inspection within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers and optical comparators.
  • Strong understanding of first article inspection and final inspection processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Quality Control or related fields (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector).
  • Familiarity with document control systems and quality management software.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Previous experience in a regulated industry such as aerospace or automotive manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect tubing, fittings, machined parts, and metal castings for defects.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and customer specs.
  • Complete NADCAP/AS9100 forms (AS9102 Forms 1, 2, 3) and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Document nonconformances and support production with quality issues.
  • Perform final inspections on completed machined parts to verify dimensional accuracy and surface quality.
  • Conduct first article inspections to validate new or modified production processes against engineering specifications.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools such as micrometers, optical comparators, and gauges to assess product conformity.
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed records for quality control and audit purposes.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct visual inspections to detect surface defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality control procedures and regulatory requirements.
