About The Position
Pacific Recycling, Inc. is a family-owned scrap metal recycling facility that values honesty and hard work. We have been recycling metal in Lane County for over 25 years and are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer. We are looking for a friendly, reliable, hard-working person to join our team immediately. The Quality Control Inspector greets, directs, and assists customers—grading materials, identifying prohibited items, and coordinating with scale and equipment operators.
Requirements
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English to understand instructions and emergency communications
- 18 years of age
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
- Reliable with the ability to adhere to a work schedule
Nice To Haves
- Experience in scrapyard preferred but not required
- Forklift certification
Responsibilities
- Inspect inbound and outbound loads
- Material grading – ensure products meet specifications and sort/separate accordingly
- Identify prohibited materials (sealed containers, hazardous materials, explosives, etc.)
- Direct and assist customers with material unloading
- Direct traffic effectively
- Communicate clearly and efficiently via radio to scale and equipment operators
- Use forklifts for unloading assistance
