About The Position

Direct Hire Skillset Group is seeking a Quality Control Line Inspector to work in the city of Orange, CA area. The Quality Control Line Inspector is responsible for performing first article, in-process, and final inspections on precision machined metal and plastic components used in the aerospace, defense, and commercial industries. This role requires reading engineering drawings and shop travelers, identifying product defects, verifying certifications, and using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gages, optical comparators, thread gages, and pin gages. Experience with Davenport line inspection, AS9100/ISO 9001 quality systems, and knowledge of GD&T, AMS/MIL standards, and basic calibration methods is highly preferred. This is a 1st shift, DIRECT HIRE position.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with precision machined metal and plastic components.
  • Ability to perform first article, in-process, and final inspections, including Davenport line inspections.
  • Strong visual inspection skills with the ability to identify defects and nonconforming products.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T (True Positioning), and shop travelers.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring equipment including optical/video comparators, surface plates, height gages, micrometers, calipers, plug and ring thread gages, and pin gages.
  • Experience reviewing processing certifications (Heat Treat, Anodizing, Plating, Passivation, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of AMS and MIL specifications and calibration methods.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
