About The Position

As a Quality Control Inspector at Transco Rail Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring railcar repairs meet Transco quality standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about safety, quality, compliance, operational excellence, and delivering results in a fast-paced industrial environment. You will help maintain facility compliance while supporting continuous improvement initiatives that drive operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, inspection, or quality-focused environment
  • Experience working in railcar repair, inspection, manufacturing, maintenance, or industrial operations
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical documentation and repair records
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and compliance

Nice To Haves

  • NDT certifications or experience such as VT Level II, CWI, WIS, UT/UTT Level II, RVI Level II, PT, BT, or MT
  • Railcar repair, inspection, tank car, or heavy industrial experience
  • Knowledge of AAR, FRA, DOT, and industry quality requirements
  • Experience conducting audits, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Project management or continuous improvement experience
  • Experience training and mentoring employees

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-process inspections of railcar repairs and maintenance activities
  • Review work orders and inspect completed repairs to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Identify non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are completed before work progresses
  • Verify quality records, repair documentation, and regulatory paperwork for accuracy and completeness
  • Complete final car file reviews and ensure proper documentation is maintained
  • Administer and maintain measuring and testing equipment
  • Perform inspections across multiple operational departments including repair, inspection, cleaning, and coating operations
  • Provide function-specific quality and compliance training to facility personnel
  • Conduct root cause analysis and support corrective action activities for quality-related issues
  • Escort customers and auditors during facility quality audits and inspections
  • Partner with operations, quality, engineering, and leadership teams to achieve facility goals
  • Maintain compliance with company, customer, AAR, FRA, DOT, and safety requirements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence efforts
  • Complete required documentation, reporting, and database updates accurately and timely
