Position Description The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing the final inspection of optics using visual, dimensional, and specialized optical measurement equipment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic math skills to include decimals, unit conversions(standard/metric).
  • Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years' experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving, in-process and final inspection of optics using the following instruments along with the unaided eye: scratch-dig paddle, automated surface quality inspection scopes, micrometers, calipers, coordinate measurement machine & specialized optical measurement tools.
  • Specialized cleaning of optics using manual methods as well as operation of ultrasonic cleaning equipment to facilitate inspection processes as described above.
  • Segregate and control discrepant material.
  • Generate, approve, and store quality documents such as inspection reports, certificates of compliance, interferograms and customer specified documentation.
  • Cleaning of assigned work area, and additional duties as delegated by management including but not limited to specialized processing methods for finished optics, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and needed.
