About The Position

Under the direction of the Chief Quality Control Inspector and appropriate State representative, work to ensure the continuous airworthiness and quality of aircraft maintenance and repair, maintain a complete technical library for each aircraft; review, record and maintain all aircraft maintenance records and log books; inspects the work in progress and completed work of aircraft undergoing maintenance, repair, or modification and ensure that all purchased and overhauled material and parts are aircraft grade material and that outside repairs and overhauls on components conform to FAA standards.

Requirements

  • Possession of the following certificates: FAA Airframe & Powerplant Technician’s Certificates and FAA Inspection Authorization
  • A valid Class-C D driver’s license
  • Three years aerospace industry journey level experience
  • Two years’ experience working on CAL FIRE aircraft as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician II, Base Mechanic or Quality Control Inspector
  • FAA maintenance and inspection program requirements
  • Work order documentation for the repair and overhaul of aircraft, engines, and components
  • Log book records, log book entries and tracking life limited parts and components
  • Aircraft and engine detailed inspection requirements to determine continued airworthiness of aircraft and engines
  • Approved repairs to components
  • Acceptable sources of supply and aerospace standards for part overhauls, outsourcing of repairs, and procurement of material, hardware and parts
  • Know how to identify counterfeit parts and material, and to track and insure compliance with FAA and manufacturers air worthiness bulletins

Responsibilities

  • Operate, and maintain an aircraft inspection program to ensure the compliance and tracking of all aircraft, engines, and life limited parts in accordance with FAA maintenance and inspection requirements
  • Perform aircraft and engine detailed inspections for the continued airworthiness of aircraft and engines
  • Maintain all log books and life limited records for fleet aircraft and engines
  • Inspect out sourced overhauled parts and purchased parts and material to ensure compliance with aerospace and FAA requirements for Certified aircraft, parts, and components
  • Track FAA and manufacturers air worthiness bulletins
  • May perform Confined Space Entry maintenance evolutions to include aircraft fuel tank inspections.
