About The Position

Reporting to the Area Manager and the Corporate Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Control Inspector will begin in a developmental, entry-level capacity with the opportunity to build their technical knowledge and quality assurance skills through hands-on experience, active learning, and ongoing mentorship from their reporting manager. In this role, the Quality Control Inspector supports the implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of company quality policies, programs, and practices. Additionally, ensures compliance with applicable codes and standards for project and fabrication work and helps identify and report quality issues to ensure adherence to established requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Completion of a University Degree or College Diploma in Quality, Engineering or C.E.T is preferred.
  • Trained and qualified with valid certificate.
  • General knowledge of inspection techniques and various Q.A./Q.C. codes mentioned above.
  • Up to 3 years of relevant Q.C. project experience.
  • Experience working on Q.C. projects of low complexity.
  • Familiar with the development of ITP (Inspection Test Plans) to various codes.
  • Experience in inspection and construction operations is required.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and promote organization’s Q.A. policies and programs.
  • Adhere to Inspection and Test Plans and Internal Procedures.
  • Competently perform inspections and prepare inspection reports in a timely manner.
  • Interpret and apply requirements from applicable codes, standards, quality procedures, specifications, drawings, and contracts to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain and develop record management processes. Be accountable for care, retrieval, and transmission of history documents using internal and external data tools.
  • Support minor investigations such as corrective actions, continuous improvements, and RFI inquiries.
  • Achieve ESFL SNT-TC-1A VT Level II.
  • Ensure compliance with code standards and requirements (i.e. ASME Section I, III, VIII (Div. 1, Div. 2), B31.1-Pressure Piping, and B31.3-Process Piping, B51, CSA N299, CSA N285, ISO 9001).
  • Examine work pieces to determine conformance with specifications and welding requirements.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders for workers.
  • Monitor currency of welder qualification records and certifications.
  • Maintain inspection and calibrations records.
  • Perform visual, dimensional and weld inspections.
  • Verify dimensions of fabrications and code vessel calibration using various inspection tools.
  • Coordinate activities for fabrication to various ASME code vessels.
  • Compile, analyze and prepare history dockets
