About The Position

The primary role of the Quality Assurance Inspector is to act on behalf of the CubCrafters Quality organization to enable the success of the CubCrafters aircraft manufacturing teams in all activities. A CubCrafters Quality Assurance Inspector works independently, with peers and management from all departments. Quality Assurance Inspectors work directly for the Director of Quality and with the Quality Manager in support of all quality department tasks, goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong technical, analytical, problem and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Enjoys the challenge and success of continuous improvement, high-activity, high pace and working independently in a dynamic work environment
  • High level of familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with FAA certification processes

Nice To Haves

  • Experience performing Quality System functions under an FAA Production Certificate
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification
  • Experience with conducting process and/or product audits
  • 2-5 years Quality experience with 14 CFR Part 21 Quality System
  • Demonstrated leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • In coordination with the Director of Quality, work with Quality Control Inspectors to mentor and assist with their ability to expand their skills and knowledge
  • Ability to engage multi organizational teams and positively influence their success
  • In coordination with the Quality Manager, perform in-process and final inspections of detail parts, assemblies and installations on aircraft.
  • Ability to effectively use simple and complex inspection tools and test equipment (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.)
  • Act as a Material Review Board (MRB) Coordinator when assigned by the Director of Quality by monitoring quarantined materials for expeditious movement through the system
  • Perform Process, Product and System Audits as assigned by the Director of Quality
  • Act as a CubCrafters Agent when performing inspections in support of Type Certification Projects as assigned by the Director of Quality
  • Perform Quality Administrative duties as assigned (Calibration, Supplier Surveys, etc.)
