About The Position

The Quality Control Inspector II is responsible for ensuring that products meet customer-defined specifications and internal processes through rigorous inspection of incoming and outgoing products. This role involves assisting in the creation of non-conforming material reports, supporting quality and engineering personnel in root cause analysis for corrective actions, and verifying adherence to Manufacturing Standard Procedures (MSPs). The inspector will perform in-process and final inspections, review production records for accuracy and good documentation practices, and evaluate returned products. Additionally, the role supports customer complaint investigations and reviews Certificates of Conformance and First Article Inspections. The position requires adherence to safety policies and excellent time-management skills, with the ability to work independently.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Ability to comprehend and carry out English written and verbal instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to communicate data, instructions, production results, quality issues, and similar subjects both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to utilize basic Microsoft office products such as: Excel, Word, Email, etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot.
  • High degree of manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination.
  • Ability to distinguish between the colors of red, orange, yellow, blue, green and violet.
  • Able to read at a 20/20 visual acuity using a Jaeger eye chart (near vision) with or without vision correction. Able to read No. 1 at 14” distance, or No. 2 at 20” distance, or No. 3 at 24” distance.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects incoming products against customer-defined specifications and internal processes.
  • Inspects outgoing products against customer-defined specifications and internal processes.
  • Assists in writing non-conforming material reports.
  • Assists Quality /Engineering personnel in root cause analysis and completion of Supplier Corrective Action Requests and Internal Corrective Action Requests.
  • Understands and meets quality requirements as defined in Manufacturing Standard Procedures (MSP’s).
  • Responsible for in-process and final inspection of customer parts to insure masking and de-masking procedures are correct and complete per process and / or proper thickness requirements are met.
  • Reviews production records for accuracy and good documentation practice.
  • Evaluates returned product (investigation, inspection, cause) process.
  • Assists Quality /Engineering personnel in Customer Complaints (investigation, containment, documentation).
  • Reviews Certificate of Conformance for accuracy.
  • Completes of First Article Inspections.
  • Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies.
  • Demonstrates excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • May operate precision measuring instruments and record results.
  • May perform daily tasks in a clean room environment.
  • Maintains a high level of personal hygiene.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
  • May assist in packing, preparing for shipment and shipment of customer parts as well as preparing the shipping documents and coordinating with Customer Service.
  • May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.
