About The Position

This role is responsible for inspecting vehicles to ensure required repairs and work are completed satisfactorily. The Detail Lane Leader will coordinate workflow to ensure vehicles are completed in a timely manner according to Manheim quality standards, monitor processes to ensure SOPs are followed, and ensure appropriate PPE and safety equipment are available and employees are trained in their use. This position is also responsible for ensuring all services are performed and charged appropriately, monitoring and controlling supplies, materials, and equipment for the Detail Shop, and assisting the Supervisor in implementing guidelines for a safe work environment and achieving compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations. The role requires a visible commitment to safety, active participation in safety activities, and performing other duties as assigned, including driving vehicles.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
  • OR any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline.
  • OR 5 years’ experience in a related field
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, squat, and lean for extended periods.
  • Must be able to clear a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of auto detailing, paint application processes, and associated repair procedures (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicles to ensure the required repairs and work is satisfactorily completed.
  • Coordinate the workflow to ensure all vehicles are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established Manheim quality standards.
  • Monitor process and work being performed to ensure SOPs are being followed properly.
  • Ensure the appropriate PPE and safety equipment is available and employees are properly trained in their use.
  • Responsible for ensuring all services are performed and appropriately charged against the vehicle.
  • Monitor and control the use of supplies, materials, and equipment for the Detail Shop, and coordinate the replenishment process.
  • Assist the Supervisor in the monitoring and implementing guidelines for a safe work environment and achieve compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling those behaviors.
  • Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, including driving vehicles into building and to proper clean car staging area, occasional sale day driving.
