About The Position

The Mechanical Quality Control Inspector performs quality control functions to assure compliance with project and Owner requirements under general supervision. Receives instruction on specific assignment objectives and work is reviewed by general supervision. This is a remote/rotational position on a construction project with an estimated duration of one (1) year. The anticipated start date is October/November of 2026. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Requirements

Must possess a current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certificate per AWS QC1.
Minimum of four (4) years of related mechanical field experience.
Valid driver’s license and the ability to be covered by Worley’s auto insurer.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Nice To Haves

Must be a current NACE/AMPP Level 1 or 2 Coating Inspector.
Experience in piping systems walk downs, P&ID’s, weld mapping, welder’s qualifications, ISO’s, structural drawings, understanding of specs, procedures, codes, and standards.
Proficient in documentation for tracking piping and structural steel welding.
Computer skills commensurate with program and job applications.
Possess current knowledge of Engineering, Business Administration, quality control and organizational practices.
Have excellent written and oral communications applicable to standards set by organization.

Responsibilities

Perform Fab Shop and field installation inspections of equipment and materials per the Project Specific Quality Plan, the Inspection Test Plan, Inspection Test Procedures and applicable Inspection Report forms or checklists.
Maintain compliance with established project, Corporate and customer quality assurance and control requirements.
Notifies supervisors of any discrepancies found between work completed and material installed and Owner quality requirements.
Review engineering drawings and track quality progress based on scope of work documents.
Performing special process and field installation inspections and surveillance of equipment and materials.
Attend training sessions, seminars, and appropriate educational classes as required by department.
Possess current knowledge of quality control and organizational practices.
Have excellent written and oral communications applicable to standards set by organization.
Works on and assists in making changes on non-conformance reports.
Computer skills commensurate with program and job applications.
Assist in the processing of installation procedures.
Updates Quality Control files.
Other duties as assigned.
