Inspect, sample, and test incoming components, and incoming raw materials, per Bocchi, industry, and regulatory requirements, as applicable. Duties will include weighing, measuring, maintaining records, and using gauges and instruments. This position involves acquiring and maintaining competencies for incoming component inspections, and raw material/chemical inspection programs. Staff training and proactive continuous improvement activities are also included. Promote compliance with Bocchi Laboratories policies, procedures, quality standards and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) as well as safety and environmental regulations. Participate, as required, in safety and GMP training sessions, and other company training sessions. Inspect, measure, record data, and report on the results of incoming components including caps, labels, bottles, shippers, and other components required to meet production needs. May occur at New Albany or other company locations. Maintain thorough records of inspection results, releases, rejections, etc. Confirm "HOT" items at the beginning of each day. Support quality goals of the company by working with Production, Compounding, Warehousing and other departments to resolve quality issues. Work as a team with the Shipping and Receiving, Customer Service, and Production departments to document quality failures and carry out dispositions, including returns, disposals, and rework. Maintain required standards, sampling equipment, forms, and other supplies necessary for successful completion of incoming inspections. Participate in staff selection and overall evaluation of department performance in the incoming department. Verify materials are correctly identified as Hold, Reject, or Quarantine and notices of rejection are issued when required. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
