About The Position

Nesco Resource is looking for a Quality Control Floor Inspector on 2nd shift in Bethel, CT. This is a temp to hire position for the right candidate. Hourly pay is between $28-$30.00/hour depending on experience. 2nd Shift: Monday- Friday from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM. The QC Lead is responsible for the supervision and coordination of activities for workers engaged in inspecting incoming materials, components and finished products to ensure that products are meeting the requirements, quality standards and customer specifications. Types of parts typically being inspected include: gun parts, warheads, tank parts, aerospace parts and computer boxes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certifications in quality control or related field preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in quality control or a similar role in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot defects and deviations from quality standards.
  • Experience with GD&T
  • Proficiency in using Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gage, Plug Gage, and Thread Gage for quality inspections.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve quality issues effectively.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • A willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with quality management systems, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform visual inspections, measurements, and tests using precision equipment and tools to detect any defects, deviations, or non-conformities.
  • Document and record inspection results accurately and maintain detailed records of quality control activities.
  • Identify and investigate root causes of quality issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and recommend process improvements as needed.
  • Communicate quality-related concerns, findings, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders, including production staff, supervisors, and management.
  • Participate in quality audits and inspections conducted by internal and external parties and assist in implementing audit findings and recommendations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
