About The Position

LG Chem Advance Materials, Inc. (LGCTA) is actively searching for a Quality Control Engineer to join our team in Clarksville, TN. The Quality Control Engineer will be an individual contributor reporting to the Quality Manager. The Quality Control engineer will handle PQA (Process Quality Assurance for the mass production line) tasks. The primary responsibilities for the QC Engineer will focus on quality management of the mass production line and setting up the analysis laboratory. This position is based full time in Clarksville, TN and is not a remote role.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing/operations engineering, or a technical field preferably in powder, chemical, glass, refinery, plastics, food, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, automotive or batteries.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours and Participate in on-call rotation
• Able to respond off hours and weekends to troubleshoot plant issues.
• Able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb, and lift 40 lbs.; Exposure to heat, noise, outdoors, vibration, confining work space, chemicals, explosive materials, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards; Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other garments as needed. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, Masks, full body gowns, hair nets, gloves and hearing protection.

Nice To Haves

• Proven experience in quality control and quality assurance within high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Strong problem-solving capability with hands-on experience in 8D, 5Why, and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams in resolving production quality issues and driving corrective actions.
• Experience in statistical quality management and process capability analysis (SPC, Cpk/Ppk).
• Experience managing quality risks associated with 4M changes (Man, Machine, Material, Method).
• Knowledge of Quality Core Tools, including APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plan, and PPAP.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills using tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab
• Experience in customer quality issue management, including complaint handling, containment actions, and corrective action verification.
• Experience with laboratory testing equipment and analytical instruments used for manufacturing quality control. ((e.g., ICP-OES, XRF, SEM, PSD, BET, XRD, Titrator, Tap Density and Battery Cycler).
• Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and quality KPI management to improve yield and reduce defects.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the quality performance of production lines, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are maintained during production.
• Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, potential risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Manage containment actions and escalation processes for critical quality issues affecting production or customers.
• Review and approve engineering changes, process modifications, and new product introductions from a quality perspective.
• Analyze quality-related data and generate actionable insights to improve process efficiency.
• Prepare and present quality reports for internal stakeholders.
• Support the Quality and Engineering teams during process improvements and troubleshooting activities.
