About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician/CMM Operator (Coordinate Measuring Machine) to join our metal fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating CMM equipment to inspect and verify the dimensional accuracy of fabricated metal components, ensuring they meet engineering specifications and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience operating CMM equipment in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with CMM software.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD files.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office.

Nice To Haves

  • technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CMM equipment (manual and/or CNC) to perform precision measurements on metal parts and assemblies.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine measurement requirements.
  • Set up and calibrate CMM machines and related inspection tools.
  • Record and analyze measurement data, identifying deviations and reporting non-conformances.
  • Collaborate with quality and production teams to resolve dimensional issues.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CMM equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in quality and manufacturing processes.
