About The Position

This Quality Control Body Paint Engineering position requires an understanding of the automotive paint process to enhance paint quality and meet internal and external customer requirements. Responsibilities include inspecting incoming raw material properties, performing online appearance checks, and investigating defective products to develop effective countermeasures. The specialist will establish short-term and long-term solutions for smooth production, collaborate with Engineering and Production on quality improvements during current production and new project development, and enhance supplier quality through process audits and product reviews. The role also involves participating in BIP audits and Color Harmony inspections, managing assigned products to meet customer requirements, and improving the efficiency of the quality control management system by applying new technology. The position ensures the adequacy of relevant procedures and systems in accordance with specifications and legal requirements. HMGMA, Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, is the company's first dedicated EV mass-production plant, utilizing cutting-edge production technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Demonstrate effort to minimize job performance errors; maintain optimal quality through quick revision and immediate corrections (Concern for Quality)
  • Use prompt judgements and actions based on professionalism and experiences to find concrete and clear solution (Prompt Judgement and Action)

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming raw material properties and perform online appearance checks
  • Investigate and analyze defective products and develop effective countermeasures
  • Establish short-term/long-term counter measures to ensure smooth production
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production on quality improvements during current production and during new project development stage
  • Enhance suppliers quality level by conducting Supplier Process Audit (SPA) and reviewing their products, tools, and systems periodically
  • Participate/lead BIP audit and Color Harmony sharing inspection results with suppliers, engineering and production to request and discuss improvement plan
  • Manage assigned products to meet internal/external customer requirements
  • Improve efficiency of quality control management system by learning and applying new technology, knowledge, and equipment
  • Ensure the adequacy of relevant procedures and systems in accordance to specification and applicable legal requirements
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned
