About The Position

This role supports planned team activities and is responsible for maintaining quality test equipment at the plant and Vehicle Processing Center (VPC). The specialist will support the in-line team with recommended actions and drive quality improvement through coordination, monitoring, and performing specialized technical processes directly related to completed vehicle inspection. Key responsibilities include facilitating and leading improvements for First Time Through (FTT) concerns, repetitive concerns, and field issues, as well as recommending actions and driving quality improvement through the collection, analysis, and reporting of quality and equipment issues. The role involves analyzing internal and external quality indicators to determine quality trends and drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, and Productivity metrics. Additionally, the specialist will research and investigate quality issues to determine root cause, manage the execution of HMGMA process and vehicle evaluation activities, and execute and implement quality inspection and improvement activities for mass-produced vehicles. This includes conducting activities to identify new vehicle projects and analyzing completed vehicles to ensure high quality and conformity to international standards. The role also entails leading team activities related to inspection card specifications, formats, and equipment, maintaining inspection cards/systems and equipment, establishing/improving inspection methods, developing inspection standards and criteria, utilizing Quality Index Reports for process audits, coordinating in-line process evaluation activities, and coordinating process workstation evaluations. Improvement activities include analyzing the cause of vehicle problems, leading improvement activities with shop teams, and analyzing inspection data to drive problem resolution. Facility management for quality equipment and investment cost execution is also part of the role, along with preparation and coordination of external events and participation in new vehicle projects, including validation of pilot build quality and new model critical customer quality concerns.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of inspection standards and criteria for Line Inspection to use
  • Utilize Quality Index Reports to focus shop specific process audits, shop quality level, strength, weakness, and areas for improvement – through data, validation, countermeasure, implementation, and effectiveness
  • Coordinate In-line Process evaluation activities for a sound and secure inspection system for a defect free vehicle to our customers
  • Coordinate Process workstation evaluation – validate Production/inspection activities for safety & critical check points
  • Lead analysis of the cause of the vehicle problem, improvement activities with all shop teams, audit, preparation, and implementation of quality meetings
  • Analyze inspection data and findings, communicate finding, and drive problem resolution and improvement in new model and current models
  • Facilitate, recommend actions, and drive improvement through the quality and production departments for completed vehicle quality and continuous improvement activities
  • Quality facility/equipment management, investment cost execution/ management, supplementary investment establishment
  • Preparation, consultation, and coordination of external events
  • Participation in new vehicle projects (preparation for inspection, establishment of quality securing plan, and response to evaluation)
  • Validate Pilot build quality, and audit / validate new model critical customer quality concerns
