About The Position

The Quality Control Apprentice will support the Quality Control team in inspecting fabricated and welded components to ensure products meet company, customer, and industry quality standards. This entry-level position provides hands-on (on-the-job) training in welding inspection, fabrication quality, blueprint reading, measurement techniques, documentation, and quality assurance procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Familiarity with welding processes or inspection.
• Experience with measuring tools like calipers and micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Assist Quality Control Inspectors with in-process and final inspections of fabricated and welded components.
• Inspect welds and fabricated parts for defects, dimensional accuracy, workmanship, and compliance with specifications.
• Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and specifications.
• Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, gauges, squares, and other inspection equipment.
• Verify material identification, dimensions, fit-up, weld size, and overall workmanship.
• Assist with visual weld inspections and learn to identify common weld discontinuities such as cracks, porosity, undercut, lack of fusion, and incomplete penetration.
• Assist in documenting inspection results, nonconformances, rework, and corrective actions.
• Learn and follow company Quality Control procedures, inspection plans, and customer requirements.
• Work with welders, fabricators, supervisors, and QC personnel to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
• Help ensure measuring and inspection equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.
