Quality Control Analyst

Zepz,
Remote

About The Position

As a Quality Control (QC) Analyst, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our operational compliance teams are executing controls with precision. You will be responsible for reviewing, auditing, and grading compliance files (such as AML alerts, Sanctions screenings, and Know Your Customer/KYC onboardings) to ensure strict adherence to US federal and state regulations (e.g. FinCEN, BSA, OFAC) as well as internal global policies. As Zepz continues to build AI into how we work, we expect everyone to engage with it as a core part of their role. For this position we are looking for a genuine curiosity about AI and how it can be applied in your area of work — from accelerating analysis and insight generation, to improving how we design and deliver processes and communications. Practical experience using AI tools in a professional context — whether to connect information, draft content, build frameworks, or create insights from data. We want people who actively use AI to increase productivity, not those who are waiting to be told to. Strong AI literacy — an understanding of what AI assistants can and cannot do, how to prompt effectively, and how to critically evaluate AI-generated output before using it. Awareness of the ethical considerations and responsible use of AI in the workplace, particularly in the context of sensitive data, customer experience, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in financial services compliance, specifically within FinTech, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) payments, digital banking, or MSBs (Money Services Businesses).
  • Strong operational knowledge of AML/CFT regulations, KYC/KYB practices, transaction monitoring, and OFAC/Sanctions filtering.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify subtle patterns of risk or non-compliance within complex data sets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to deliver objective-driven feedback to diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient with specialised AML monitoring systems, case management tools.
  • A genuine curiosity about AI and how it can be applied in your area of work — from accelerating analysis and insight generation, to improving how we design and deliver processes and communications.

Nice To Haves

  • CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or CRCM (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager) designations are highly regarded.
  • Prior experience using Claude (Anthropic) is a nice-to-have but not essential — what matters most is that you are genuinely engaged with AI as a tool, comfortable experimenting, and eager to share what works with your wider team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular, systematic quality control reviews on sample cases processed by second-line compliance teams (including KYC, Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions/PEP screening, and Enhanced Due Diligence).
  • Ensure all reviewed processes comply with US regulatory standards (BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC sanctions regulations) and state-specific Money Transmitter Licenses (MTLs).
  • Identify procedural deviations, systematic errors, or gaps in operational processes. Perform root cause analyses to determine why errors occurred.
  • Draft clear, objective, and constructive feedback loops for operations teams. Collaborate with team leads and trainers to develop remediation plans and training materials based on QC trends.
  • Maintain accurate QC logs, scorecards, and metrics. Assist in compiling weekly and monthly compliance quality dashboards for senior management and regulatory reporting.
  • Continuously evaluate current QC methodologies and internal compliance policies, proposing improvements to increase efficiency and mitigate risk exposure.

Benefits

  • unlimited annual leave
  • great healthcare benefits
  • employee discounts
