About The Position

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Control (QC) Analyst is responsible for conducting daily laboratory testing procedures during manufacturing processes to ensure that products comply with quality standards. The QC Analyst will conduct tests to support Quality Control in the field of cosmetic production. This is a permanent full-time position based out of our Canmore, Alberta workshop working Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Quality Control Analyst or experience working in a similar role
  • Experience within a Cosmetic GMP environment
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory requirements (Health Canada, GMP, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of MS office Suite and database systems
  • Strong technical skills, including the ability to use lab equipment
  • Demonstration of core values in work and interactions with others
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills combined with strong organizational skills
  • Flexible; ability to work well autonomously, under pressure and with tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical judgement and attention to detail
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute laboratory testing in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs), making sure to record observations and interpret findings
  • Conduct regular testing on raw materials, in-process, finished product and packaging materials
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, adhering to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) principles and implementing 5S practices
  • Handle, store, and track reagents, standards, and solutions properly
  • Regularly calibrate and maintain lab equipment (e.g., pH meters), recording all activities in logbooks in accordance with Good Documentation Practice (GDocP)
  • Collect samples of raw materials, in-process, and final products according to established procedures
  • Maintain a well-organized retention library for future reference and quality control purposes
  • Perform environmental sampling and testing, collecting samples from the environment (e.g., RO water) for quality assessment
  • Review and file batch records, forms, and logbooks. Maintain accurate records for traceability and compliance
  • Document and send samples as needed for external lab testing
  • Participate in Annual Product Quality Reviews, collaborating with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to assess product quality and identify areas for improvement
  • Other duties as assigned
