About The Position

The Biologics Manufacturing Center (BMC) Inc. is a new biomanufacturing facility created in response to the pandemic. A not-for-profit organization, the BMC aims to better meet the biopharmaceutical needs of Canadians. The BMC helps support projects of public interest, actively contributes to the overall growth and resilience of the Canadian life sciences industry and fosters industry development and innovation through Canadian production. We are looking for a Quality Control Analyst to join our team in charge of the biological analysis of in-process products, intermediates, and finished products. The individual will also participate in the development, validation, and transfer of analytical methods.

Requirements

  • Hold at least a college diploma (DEC) in Laboratory Technology or a similar discipline
  • Have a minimum of 4 years of experience in validation or transfer of analytical methods in a GLP or GMP environment
  • Have hands-on experience with HPLC, ELISA and SDS-PAGE
  • Easily communicate in French and have an intermediate level of English, enabling you to write reports or explain your results to clients outside the province of Quebec
  • A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development, validation, and transfer of analytical methods
  • Perform analyses on products and proteins using analytical and compendial methods
  • Compile, read, and record data related to tests and reports in compliance with SOPs and GMP requirements, while ensuring data integrity
  • Collaborate on investigations of out-of-specification or out-of-trend results
  • Draft and review documentation related to quality control
  • Participate in the identification and documentation of health and safety risks, including handling of chemicals or materials presenting a biological risk
  • Contribute to managing laboratory material inventory and order new items as needed
  • Perform maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Use scientific expertise to provide support for diagnostics, laboratory investigations, and problem-solving.
