About The Position

The Quality Clerk performs essential functions including physical and chemical testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications. This role involves gathering data on quality issues, analyzing results, and identifying trends. The Quality Clerk is responsible for maintaining records of inspections, tests, and findings, and reporting any deviations from quality standards. They will support the Quality Management System through Document Control activities to keep all documents updated and suggest and implement improvements to production processes to enhance quality and reduce defects. Additionally, the Quality Clerk ensures testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained, and participates in training new employees on quality procedures and standards. This role may require supporting emergency chemical analysis on weekends and/or holidays. Building relationships with teammates to maintain open communication with production, sharing information about customer feedback, and acting as a resource on quality specifications are key aspects of this position. Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles is expected, along with other duties assigned by the manager.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Sharing information throughout the facility pertaining to customer feedback and interaction in an effort to continually improve the internal system and eliminate customer concerns.
  • Acting as a resource to the quality and production department on quality specifications, quality testing, methods, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
