About The Position

The Quality Control Civil/Structural Inspector assists management in establishing project requirements and selecting appropriate procedures and techniques for quality control in the civil/structural segment of a project. The inspector trains and tests craft personnel on proper techniques and procedures, and performs inspections of rebar, formwork, concrete, earthwork, and structural steel throughout the site to ensure work conforms to project specifications and governing codes. The role requires extensive knowledge of concrete, rebar, underground activities, foundations, structural work, and the construction materials and processes used for each activity.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience as a Civil Journeyman or Structural Journeyman.
Extensive knowledge of concrete, rebar, underground activities, foundations, structural work, and the construction materials and processes used for each activity.
Good aptitude and manual dexterity.
Good reading comprehension.
Ability to work with others as a team player.
Good communication skills with coworkers and supervisors.
Commitment to Zachry's values and safety rules and regulations.

Nice To Haves

Current Zachry or Zachry ROF'ed employee.
Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
Former quality control experience.

Responsibilities

Review project requirements and determine minimum requirements and procedures; schedule and coordinate examinations, inspections, or tests for the assigned discipline or project segment.
Perform examinations, inspections, or tests as required by project management and/or the client or owner.
Coordinate training and craft testing, and train personnel on required construction procedures and proper use of tools and instruments.
Provide technical assistance to project management in selecting construction procedures and techniques to meet project specifications.
Provide technical assistance to project management in selecting tools, instruments, and test equipment for project quality control.
Assist project management in selecting and/or testing personnel for specific work activities to ensure work meets project requirements.
Schedule examinations, inspections, or tests as required by the project.
Coordinate examination, inspection, and test plans with project management and client representatives.
Complete and maintain inspection, test, examination, and quality control records.
Assure implementation of the job-site quality control program.
Inspect rebar, formwork, concrete, earthwork, and structural steel throughout the site to verify compliance with project specifications and governing codes.
