About The Position

We’re seeking a Quality Auditor who has a passion for detail and compliance and a zeal for helping people do things the right way the first time. You relish the data of food manufacturing and see testing and paperwork as the evidence of quality and excellence. At the same time, you seek to understand the processes and workflow that create the best products possible. You’re an assertive and patient team player who helps others comply with General Manufacturing Protocols with your collaborative approach.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • 1-2 years’ experience in quality or laboratory for food processing company
  • Familiar with all basic aspects of quality control
  • Understands basic microbiology, equipment hygiene, & product shelf life
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and exceptional ability to develop and maintain relationships.
  • General computer skills
  • Sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing over obstacles
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must hear well enough to converse on telephone
  • Must see well enough to read reports
  • Must understand technical, microbiological reports (standard plate count, bacterial identification, shelf life parameters etc.)
  • Must read and write English at High School level

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology, food science, biology, or other related science field.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in quality or laboratory for a food processing company.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and ensures that all production and batch records are accurately completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensures team is meeting all Critical Control Points, Prerequisite Programs, and Preventive Controls.
  • Conducts thorough audits of designated areas.
  • Stresses the importance of safety and quality to all employees.
  • Works with team members to make sure processes are understood and followed to reduce incomplete processes.
  • Recommends formal training opportunities for production team members to Group Leader or Production Supervisor.
  • A self-starter who does their job in an independent manner with minimal supervision or direction.
  • Identifies and helps solve issues on the production floor without waiting for authorization.
  • Communicates ideas, instructions, or feedback clearly to people at all levels.
  • Approaches work with a good balance of empathy, communication, and a strong understanding of the vital importance of quality and safety measures.
  • Helps others to improve their reporting and understand standard operating procedures.
