About The Position

National Beef Leathers in St. Joseph, Missouri, is hiring a Night Shift Quality Assurance Auditor for an on-site, safety-sensitive position. The role monitors product quality throughout production, documents quality data and samples, communicates issues with production teams, and supports safe operations. The position offers a full-time work week over 3½ days, with a four-week workday rotation, competitive wages, and benefits.

Requirements

Must be able to read and write in English.
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery, normally acquired through two to five years of manufacturing experience in a tannery or a previous Quality Assurance position.
Manual dexterity for operating machinery and computers.
Availability to work all shifts, flexible hours, and flexible days/evenings, including weekends and holidays.
Conceptual and analytical thinking.
Attention to detail.
Problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Basic computer skills.
Understanding of various quality aspects.
Ability to lift hides up to 100 pounds.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

Input quality attributes and monitor product quality throughout the production process.
Communicate quality concerns, trends, and issues with Production personnel and leadership.
Collect, evaluate, and document daily samples.
Promote and support a safe work environment, including compliance with PPE requirements.
Provide departmental coverage as needed.
Participate in cross-training and become proficient in all Quality Assurance functions.
Maintain accurate quality records and documentation.
Maintain knowledge of Hide Brand Sortation.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
