About The Position

The QA II role is responsible for managing our Group Life and Disability underwriting audit program, specifically the CMU (Core Market Underwriting) and NCG (National Client Group) portfolio. You will be responsible for managing your monthly audit production independently, meeting due dates for audit production. You will analyze data and results from the audit to develop trend analysis and give recommendations for areas of opportunity for business partners while producing regular reporting. These reports will identify how to improve operations, processes. There’s a continuous improvement element.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • 2+ years of audit experience or similar skill sets
  • Demonstrated high level of technical expertise in operational processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership proficiency and adherence to principles of simplicity, expertise and empathy.
  • Knowledge of multiple business management systems.
  • Proven analytical ability.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and demonstrate the value of QA to operational effectiveness.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation and presentation skills.

  • College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Determine adherence to quality standards through audits in the areas of expertise in Acquisition, Service and/or Benefits.
  • Maintain up-to-date expertise with relevant processes to provide an effective quality assessment.
  • Maintain a full audit workload and deliver high quality assessments.
  • Deliver concise, clear and professionally appropriate written documents.
  • Partner effectively with key stakeholders to identify holistic quality trends.
  • Identifying gaps in procedural documentation and work effective with Policies and Procedures team to address.
  • Mentor new and existing staff in the QA I role.
  • Assist with QA projects.
  • Assists with regulatory and compliance inquiries as needed.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with appropriate members of the operating areas.
  • May provide direct operational support due to critical business need.
