About The Position

Description Position Summary: Performs designated verification procedures for molded containers according to procedure and regulation. Reports to the Plant Quality Manager. Responsibilities: Performs dimensional verification of molded parts according to specifications and records these dimensions on quality registers or inputs data into correct computer system. Performs designated and regulatory testing according to requirement or regulation. Records results of tests on quality records. Initiates HOLD procedure for all non-conforming products. Participates in identification, isolation and quarantine process for non-conforming product. Has basic knowledge of statistical quality control necessary to communicate trends or out of control situations. Liaison to production personnel with regards to regulatory requirements or verification procedures as a resource person. Inspects and samples all incoming raw material. Document the information in the quality forms, verify incoming reports and completes receiving reports and send them to the purchasing department. Does ambient testing at the beginning of each shift and documents in the quality sheet. Do weekly documentation of finished lots (certificate of analysis). Daily quality inspection in production of all machines and documents in the quality sheets as specified. Do hydro testing when there is a change in mold in the machines or regular testing when necessary. Collect all documentation for all 3 shifts and store it in the quality department. Do testing (hydro, below zero, etc. filled all documentation, file and other testing when necessary. Work in the production area according to the itinerary established by administration. Assist and/or help in the quality department whenever the supervisor is out of the plant. Assist and make sure that the procedure of all equipment is followed (calibration of the equipment). Does other duties assigned by supervisor. Complies with environmental and food safety policies while adhering to all required regulatory standards and compliance activities (including SQF, BRC, FSSC, OSHA, DOT, and customer-specific requirements). Authority: The Quality Assurance Technician may implement the HOLD procedure or stop any process for non-conforming products. The Quality Assurance Technician may authorize the release of any Q.C. HOLD. The Quality Assurance Technician may recommend changes to established procedures and quality work instructions but may not make changes to them or discontinue them without authorization.
