About The Position

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring that burners, combustion components, and related assemblies meet company, customer, and regulatory quality standards. This role supports production through inspections, testing, documentation control, and continuous improvement initiatives. Manages our gauge calibration system, assist with auditing ISO 9001 in the office and plant, and supports the warranty process.

Requirements

  • IS0 9000 principles, philosophy, and auditing.
  • Electrical and Mechanical Blueprint Reading.
  • Quality Measurement Tools, Calibration, and Use.
  • Proficient in Microsoft application.
  • Basic understanding of quality tools.
  • Quality assurance mindset
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a role within similar quality assurance functions of a manufacturing plant.
  • Standing, bending, lifting, and moving objects weighing up to 50 lbs., frequently during an 8 hour or longer work shift.
  • Dexterity required includes the ability to safely work with hand tools.
  • Normal hazards associated with working in a metal fabricating environment.
  • Personal protection equipment required consists of: safety glasses, steel toed shoes and hearing protection.

Nice To Haves

  • Some post high school education preferred.
  • Additional personal protection equipment may be required and is dependent upon the work being performed, and may include: face shield, respirator etc.

Responsibilities

  • Visual and physical inspection to ensure product and/or material conforms to established standard of quality, appearance, and other specified requirements. Either incoming material, raw material, work-in-process of manufacturing, after product completion, and returned materials.
  • Manage and maintain the gauge calibration system.
  • Conduct audits to ensure conformance to ISO 9001.
  • Records data and countermeasures on GEMBA board and presents results to the management staff at meetings.
  • Documents acceptance, photographs product, and attaches these records to serialized files in the MRP system.
  • Reviews mechanical and electrical drawings vs completed product to verify conformance.
  • Works with engineering and production to correct documentation and product quality for acceptance.
  • Identify root cause of quality issues and assist in corrective/preventive action implementation.
  • Evaluate returned warranty items to determine root cause of failure, verify warranty eligibility, and identify trends impacting product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Promotes and supports concepts of continuous quality improvement and utilizes applicable techniques.
  • Drives to assist the team in product flow and schedule attainment through timely completion of tasks.
  • Position requires decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle responsibilities with effective interpersonal skills. Effectively interface with others inside and outside the Company is required.
  • Position requires ability to work in a normal office and production plant with welding, machining, fabrication, and assembly operations environment.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by Manager.
