About The Position
The QA Technician's primary responsibilities will include raw material and packaging inspections, monitoring of in-process inspections and finished goods documentation review. Responsibilities will also include maintaining logs and data records associated with job function (e.g. non-conforming materials, corrective action log, hold logs, net content files, etc.).
Requirements
- Maintains a clean and neat work area
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Must have knowledge of operating basic laboratory equipment
- Promotes teamwork, possess a good attitude, and exhibit flexibility and willingness to perform tasks as needed
- Spreadsheet and database Knowledge (excel and access)
- Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety, quality and other relevant requirements
- Ensures compliance with BRC, SQF, and other relevant standards
- Required knowledge of food processing and food safety; food or pharmaceutical industry experience; 1 – 3 years minimum in food or pharmaceutical industries in QA/QC
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to speak, write and read English
Responsibilities
- Execute required tests on incoming ingredients and packaging according to Quality Monitor Scheme (QMS)
- Perform verification on finished goods documentation to ensure that each finish good lot meets positive release criteria
- Support training for line operators to ensure process checks are accurate and timely as stated in QMS
- Retain finished good samples and set up sensory panel daily
- Hold “Out of Specification” material
- Communicate with Supervisors
- Utilize ASI to obtain net content information to release finished goods as well as assist operators with the use of ASI Stations
- Calibrate lab equipment including PH meter, moisture analyzers, refractometer, scales, etc. according to Internal Control Plan (ICP)
- Audit GMPs, throughout the plant and follow safety rules and procedures
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
- Overtime and/or cover shifts as required
