About The Position

This role will support both the 2nd and 3rd shifts at Kevin’s Natural Foods and will work Wednesday through Sunday, with overtime as needed. The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for monitoring and programming critical control points (CCP), product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process. This includes performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas, correctly recording and filing all relevant record logs and documentation, and ensuring correct recipe guidelines for products are met during processing. The technician will work closely with production staff to maintain and educate in the areas of sanitation, hygiene, GMP’s, and other food safety guidelines. They will also be responsible for collecting product samples for product development, lab retains, and the laboratory, and performing inspections on products, equipment, and machinery. Other duties and projects as assigned by QA Management.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a food processing environment.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or Diploma in Microbiology or food science.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, allergens, and food defense
  • HACCP Certification.
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work mandatory overtime and weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years’ experience in a meat or poultry processing environment preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

Responsibilities
