About The Position

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician for our First Quality Tissue plant. This position is considered INTERNAL DEPARTMENT ONLY , and will be located in Anderson, SC. Quality Assurance Technicians performs confirmatory and special laboratory testing of products. Provides analytical support for quality assurance functions throughout all aspects of company operations. Come join a high performance team, where our Culture defines who we are. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two or more years’ experience in a Quality position required.
  • Familiarity with a formal Quality System (ISO 9000, GMP/ QSR, etc.) required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications or similar programs.
  • Math skills including algebra required; statistics knowledge a plus.
  • Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to regularly perform data analysis, correctly interpret results and summarize data in clear, concise reports.
  • Ability to communicate examples of problems and recommend solutions to peers; solicit feedback from peers and work to achieve consensus on solutions.
  • Acts as a “go to” person by giving and offering guidance to other QC Techs and acts as a coordinator to ensure completion of tasks as required or requested.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years post-secondary education in Math, Science or Technology, OR ASQ certification (CMI) or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred.
  • SAP knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote an action-oriented safety culture embracing safety as a core value, instilling and exemplifying a safety mindset for all team members resulting in an incident free workplace.
  • Work in conjunction with Quality department to ensure finished product satisfies all finished product quality standards.
  • Correctly performs and understands quality testing requirements.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and upkeep of the laboratory.
  • Follows existing procedures applying to the Quality System.
  • Performs testing on Production samples at specified sampling frequencies.
  • Enters required test results into the Quality Data System.
  • Reports test results to appropriate parties in a timely manner and assists in correcting undesired quality situations.
  • Assists in preparing and providing material, chemicals, equipment, and documents needed for performing quality functions.
  • Performs special testing for support of product development, validation, and product investigations (nonconforming goods, complaints, recalls and returned goods).
  • Completes assigned reports and recommends appropriate actions based on findings.
  • Supports activities as assigned in the following areas:
  • Calibration
  • Data systems maintenance
  • Quality records maintenance
  • Raw material approval and release
  • Labeling/ packaging approval and release
  • Verification of corrective actions
  • Auditing
  • Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.
  • Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.
  • Follows necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations
