About The Position

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician who enjoys working in both a lab and on the production floor. This role ensures products are manufactured following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), the Food Safety/HACCP plan, and quality plans developed by Torani, meeting regulatory and GFSI (SQF) standards. The ideal candidate is collaborative, enjoys helping others embrace positive change, and understands that Quality Assurance is a support function to manufacturing. This role is crucial in helping Torani produce high-quality products that customers crave, staying current with new food safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical/scientific discipline (Food, Physical, or Biological Sciences preferred)
  • 1-3 years of experience working in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Highly organized with acute attention to detail.
  • Fluent in written & verbal English.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts occasionally.
  • Ability to work overtime and on weekends as the needs arise.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • PCQI/HACCP certification preferred.
  • Experience with a large ERP (i.e., Oracle) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform GMP inspections, line checks, and review SOPs to ensure procedures are accurate and support First Time Quality (FTQ).
  • Inspect packaging and ingredients to ensure a high level of quality.
  • Assist with the positive release process for all products.
  • Conduct daily sensory analysis and quality control checks of finished products.
  • Investigate customer feedback and provide written analysis of findings and conclusions.
  • Lead the calibration program, ensuring measuring equipment is accurate.
  • Organize, file, and ensure easy referencing of all documentation, including daily paperwork and record reviews.
  • Identify and address any anomalies in records.
  • Support internal and external audits by ensuring Torani is audit-ready.
  • Train the team on GMPs and other food safety & quality related topics.
  • Communicate pertinent information effectively and efficiently, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain a safe and enjoyable work environment, reporting safety issues promptly and recommending/implementing changes.
