This position is responsible for hiring, training, monitoring, and administering the job duties for QA hourly personnel. This includes monitoring and maintaining Quality Assurance programs to verify that product specifications are met, communicating with all levels of management and the USDA, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. This position also requires outlining product deficiencies and suggested corrections, tracking corrective actions to the customer, government, and QA inspections until discrepancies are resolved, and directing and scheduling laboratory and in-plant quality assurance testing as required on a shift basis. Other duties include assisting in the development of analytical skills used to evaluate problems and provide sound technical advise to resolve situations, working on special projects as assigned by the QA Manager (i.e. writing procedures, capability studies, records organization, computer application, and implementation), and performing other responsibilities as the need arises. This position is responsible for food safety, food quality, and legality.
