About The Position

Somafina is a growing, thriving contract manufacturer of vitamins and dietary supplements. We're passionate about delivering high-quality products to our customers, and we're building a team-oriented, safe, and efficient workplace to do it. As our QA Supervisor, you'll be the driving force behind day-to-day quality operations on Swing Shift. You'll lead a team of Quality Control Technicians, review and approve deviations, and make sure everything we produce meets federal and state regulations as well as Somafina's own high bar for quality. You'll partner closely with other departments to solve problems as they come up, and you'll play a key role in making sure our products are right — from the first step to the last. This position reports to the Quality Manager.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • High school diploma or GED, plus at least 1 year of related experience/training (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sharp attention to detail and solid math skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and make sound decisions within company guidelines
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management abilities
  • A steady hand under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort adapting to change and shifting priorities
  • Integrity and a strong sense of personal accountability
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with required Excel experience

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of GMPs and experience in the nutraceutical or dietary supplement industry
  • Familiarity with Dietary Supplement GMPs
  • Auditing experience
  • Experience enforcing SOPs and product specifications

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the daily work of Quality Control Technicians
  • Step in to provide hands-on coverage when a QC Technician is out
  • Build a team-oriented culture focused on hitting department and company goals
  • Make sure product specifications, company policies, and procedures are consistently met
  • Review and approve deviations
  • Review Batch Production Records for regulatory and policy compliance, and log data into company software for traceability
  • Conduct internal inspections and SOP reviews
  • Ensure every employee follows cGMP requirements throughout the facility
  • Support Quality Engineering by gathering data for Product Quality Reviews (PQRs) on TGA products
  • Partner with production and customer service to keep projects moving and compliant with federal regulations
  • Work with managers across manufacturing operations on all things quality
  • Troubleshoot issues and concerns with other departments as they arise
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Support company and department safety programs and initiatives
  • Take on other duties as assigned by your manager
