About The Position

The Quality Assurance Specialist reports directly to the Branch Director(s) and is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining all quality enhancement systems. This position works cooperatively across the departments to ensure regulatory compliance and the integrity of program policies, client records, agency records, and related documentation. The Quality Assurance Specialist will also interact with program participants and so must be familiar with the Guiding Values issued by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). At all times, the Quality Assurance Specialist will seek to act in accord with the principles and values expressed and uphold the agency mission.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university
  • At least one year of experience in social services, preferably in the support of individuals with developmental disabilities
  • At least two years of experience in a management/supervisory role
  • Experience with quality assurance, regulatory oversight, and/or contract compliance or
  • Four years’ experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, quality assurance, regulatory oversight and/or contract compliance, and the management/supervision of personnel
  • A Washington State driver’s license, current vehicle insurance, and ability to be covered on Alpha Supported Living Services’ automobile insurance plan based upon driving record
  • Background inquiry clearance from an authorized state agency
  • Knowledge of regulatory codes, governing policies, agency rules, and contract provider regulations/requirements
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, process modeling, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources
  • Intermediate ability to monitor/assess performance of yourself, other individuals, and the agency to make improvements or take corrective action
  • Intermediate to advanced ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem
  • Ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources and then enter, transcribe, record, store, and maintain information

Responsibilities

  • Complete quality assurance reviews of agency records, personnel files and policies , ensuring contract and regulatory compliance; Review and approve plans of correction and corresponding documentation resulting from the quality assurance reviews
  • Assist with preparation for certification evaluations, licensure inspections, and other regulatory site visits
  • Review and evaluate accident/incident investigations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Conduct satisfaction and internal surveys, including Guardian Satisfaction Surveys, Employee Satisfaction Surveys, and Client Satisfaction Surveys, and compile results for comparison and provide analysis as needed or requested
  • Develop and facilitate training as needed or requested
  • Regularly review the Policy and Procedure Manual
  • Provides assistance to CEO and directors
  • Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars; complete individual training requirements annually and maintain certifications and licensures, as required
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned on a daily basis
