About The Position

PGI Foods is looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to join their Quality team in Lowell, MA. This hands-on position will ensure that their soups, sauces, and specialty food products consistently meet established standards for quality, taste, consistency, and food safety. This role is ideal for someone with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, food manufacturing, or related experience seeking a long-term career with a company that values quality, teamwork, and employee development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience, preferably in food manufacturing
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to accurately document test results and follow established procedures
  • Fluent in English

Nice To Haves

  • Degree or coursework in Food Science, Culinary Arts, or a related field
  • Experience working with soups, sauces, or similar food products
  • Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMPs, or other food safety programs
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing or production
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections and testing of soups, sauces, and specialty food products prior to packaging
  • Measure product characteristics such as consistency, pH, particulate distribution, and other quality specifications
  • Conduct sensory evaluations for taste, texture, aroma, and appearance
  • Accurately record quality testing results and maintain production and quality documentation
  • Identify product non-conformances and communicate findings to Production leadership
  • Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions
  • Partner with Quality Assurance, R&D, and Production teams to improve product consistency and manufacturing processes
  • Monitor quality trends and identify potential issues before they affect production
  • Help maintain compliance with food safety, quality, and manufacturing programs
  • Follow established GMP, sanitation, safety, and quality procedures
