As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you'll play an important role in ensuring our products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards from start to finish. This position works closely with production personnel, engineers, project teams, suppliers, and customers to support quality throughout the fabrication process. Columbia Energy is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to support quality assurance activities throughout our fabrication and manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for inspecting materials and finished products, verifying compliance with customer specifications and applicable codes, supporting supplier quality efforts, and helping ensure quality requirements are met throughout all phases of production. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively with both internal teams and customers to resolve quality-related issues.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and interpret engineered drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and related inspection tools
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, customers, and suppliers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other standard business software
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship due to government contract requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within NQA-1 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems
  • Previous quality assurance or quality control experience in fabrication, manufacturing, machining, or industrial environments
  • Experience performing first article inspections and final acceptance inspections
  • Familiarity with customer quality requirements for government or commercial contracts

Responsibilities

  • Inspect materials, components, and fabricated products to verify compliance with customer specifications, applicable codes, and company quality standards
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using measuring and testing equipment, including tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools
  • Execute quality requirements in accordance with approved quality assurance plans, customer specifications, and applicable procedures throughout fabrication, testing, first article inspections, and final acceptance
  • Perform receiving inspections of incoming materials and review procurement documentation for compliance with quality requirements
  • Read and interpret engineered drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Work closely with production personnel, engineers, customers, and suppliers to resolve quality concerns and ensure compliance with contract requirements
  • Identify quality issues, document findings, and assist with corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation
  • Support customer audits and inspections as required
  • Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to strengthen quality processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned
