About The Position

The Quality Assurance Specialist will support the Safety and Mission Assurance Services II (SMAS II) contract via a Resident Management Office (VALCOR ENGINEERING CORP) in Springfield, NJ. This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information. Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task. Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time). Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School or equivalent.
  • Must have 5+ years of recent and related work experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical charts, and specification sheets.
  • Ability to initiate non-conformance reports, document and report inspection results, and monitor corrective actions for effectiveness.
  • Maintain current company and customer training certifications required to uphold quality inspection stamp authorization and warranty expectations.
  • Work with company and customer representatives to resolve inspection questions and communicate technical issues to project engineers to ensure compliance with final product specification requirements.
  • Knowledge of higher-level quality assurance system requirement documents, with the ability to interpret and apply QA system-level requirements while performing quality assurance duties.
  • Interpret and apply higher-level quality assurance system requirements while performing all assigned quality assurance duties.
  • Execute quality requirements in accordance with customer-approved quality assurance plans, policies, and specifications during all phases of hardware fabrication, testing, first article inspections, and final end-item inspections.
  • Perform accurate mechanical, physical, and visual inspections, conduct process surveillance through witnessing and monitoring techniques, and verify test results and documentation for raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies in accordance with approved inspection documents and specification requirements.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.
  • Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.
  • Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.
  • Must be organized with good time management skills and must be able to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) inspection functions for space flight hardware in accordance with established customer and company requirements.
  • Maintain current company and customer-required training and certifications necessary to uphold quality inspection stamp authorization and warranty expectations.
