About The Position

The Quality Assurance Representative will monitor processes and perform routine QC checks, interface with line supervision and the production workforce on production and quality procedures, and maintain process and quality documentation. This role includes conducting internal audits, performing pre-operational sanitation inspections, and updating operation instructions and quality control procedures. The representative will also monitor and evaluate compliance with USDA regulations and has the authority to hold non-conforming product and make decisions regarding product disposition.

Requirements

• Must be able to communicate clearly in English (written and verbal)
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Proficient in mathematics
• Proficient on a computer, Excel, Word and Outlook
• Must have legible handwriting
• Must have good interpersonal skills and communication skills
• Must have an overall favorable employment record and attendance record
• Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays as needed
• Must be willing to rotate into various departments with varying QC related job duties as needed
• Must be able to show up to work daily and be on-time to perform the duties of the position
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time (8-12 hours) on a concrete/metal grate floor
• Must be able to work in cold environments, 40 degrees or hot environment for a RTE plant, up to 100 degrees

Responsibilities

• Monitor process and perform routine QC checks
• Interface with line supervision and production workforce on production and quality procedures
• Maintain process and quality documentation, to include conducting internal audits that may require the participation of management
• Perform pre-operational sanitation inspection in area assigned
• Maintain current operation instructions and quality control procedures by updating as new information is given and provide input from the floor for these instructions and procedures
• Perform, monitor and evaluate compliance with USDA regulations other than those incorporated into daily routines
• Hold product that does not conform to customer agreements, finished product specifications, or legal requirements
• Make decisions regarding product disposition including release
• Other duties as assigned
