About The Position

The Quality Assurance Manager at Kevin’s Natural Foods is responsible for overseeing the management and implementation of food safety programs for the company’s products. This role involves developing and formalizing food safety plans, supervising their execution, and managing the QA team to ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards. The Quality Assurance Manager plays a key role in securing and maintaining the company’s third-party certifications. A strong understanding of GMPs, labeling regulations, HACCP, and GFSI Certification Requirements is essential.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in managing a quality control function inside a food manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills with ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to use PC and widely used software, spreadsheets (Excel), word processing (MS Word), etc.
  • Ability to work independently as well as maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of the organization (inside and outside the company).

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements procedures for monitoring work activities to support sanitation, microbiological monitoring, overall food quality, and food safety objectives across all facilities.
  • Assists in managing all facilities’ QA functions, directly overseeing QA supervisors to ensure consistent execution of food safety and quality programs.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the Company’s HACCP plans.
  • Collaborates with product development teams to create risk assessments and food safety protocols for new products, ensuring full commercialization without delays or quality events.
  • Works closely with the Production Team to implement and maintain food safety programs, ensuring compliance across production operations.
  • Promotes continuous improvement initiatives and cost-reduction objectives, tracking progress and successes.
  • Manages the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF System, including food safety and quality fundamentals, and ensures SQF documents, manuals, procedures, and forms are up-to-date.
  • Communicates with relevant personnel to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF System across all departments.
  • Maintains and updates all SQF documents and requirements, ensuring compliance with current standards.
  • Responsible for follow-up activities related to manufacturing site audits, ensuring adherence to SQF Policies and Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned and necessary.
