We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead and manage all quality and food safety functions at the facility. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and Lakeside Foods standards while fostering a strong food safety culture across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality, or related field strongly preferred
  • HACCP and Preventive Controls certification required
  • Experience working in food manufacturing or regulated production environment
  • Working knowledge of FDA, USDA, and state regulatory requirements
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced computer and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
  • Flexibility to support production schedules and audit needs

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all Quality Assurance department activities, including hiring, training, and development of QA team members
  • Serve as HACCP / Preventive Controls / Food Safety Team Coordinator
  • Maintain and update HACCP, Preventive Controls, GMPs, prerequisite programs, and food safety manuals
  • Coordinate and participate in customer, third‑party, regulatory, mock, and recall audits
  • Act as primary contact with FDA, USDA, and Wisconsin DATCP, as applicable
  • Oversee review of sanitation records, production reports, QA testing, temperature logs, calibrations, and related documentation
  • Manage customer and supplier complaints, including corrective actions and documentation
  • Review and approve outside laboratory testing results (environmental and finished product)
  • Release finished product for shipment and create Certificates of Analysis (COAs)
  • Coordinate documentation for international shipments, including regulatory certificates
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Sales, R&D, Production, and Safety to maintain specifications, labels, and nutritionals
  • Maintain the facility document control system
  • Serve on the Safety Committee and support safety policy development
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
