As part of our involvement, Jefferson Industries Corporation offers design and development for press dies and other tools necessary to produce automotive products. We embrace programs for product development including product design review and Advanced Product Quality Planning. Our facilities support high quality product manufacturing, and we provide a timely and flexible approach to meeting the needs of our customers. We are actively seeking a Quality Assurance Management Support associate to join our Quality Assurance team on 1st shift (core schedule, Monday - Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm) Position Description Note – The following is not intended to be all-inclusive. Your position is responsible for providing professional and dependable service and to develop our Team’s capability to deliver JIC’s key objectives to all our customers and suppliers. You will have a complete understanding of all customer/supplier requirements. Your understanding of JIC’s Management Policy “To become the best supplier” through our philosophy and guiding principles “Safety, Morale, Quality, Cost & Delivery” is imperative. This role will be measured against specific targets as noted in the departmental business plan. Summary: The QUALITY Assurance Welding management support associate SUPPORTs welding with quality issues and takes data on all comp parts within their assigned areas. they perform job DUTIES in a manner which meets established quality, delivery, cost and safety targets. The QUALITY Assurance Welding management support associate IS EXPECTED TO FOLLOW OPERATING AND QUALITY PROCEDURES IN PERFORMING DUTIES IN THE MOST EFFICIENT MANNER POSSIBLE. they must fOLLOW COMPANY SAFETY AND OTHER POLICIES AS OUTLINED IN the ASSOCIATE HANDBOOK.

Requirements

  • Interpersonal Skills: Possess skills to communicate with associates, management team, other department managers and senior management.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Able to quickly identify defects and solve problems with equipment, process, and documentation to avoid missed quality, delivery or safety concerns.
  • PDCA Implementation: Basic understanding of the PDCA Program (Plan, Do, Check, Act)
  • Computer Skills: Competent in Office computer software, including Word, Excel and Power Point. Competent in use of ERP systems.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
  • Intermediate level skills with standard office suite programs: word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, email.
  • Performs above Essential Duties & Responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance record and follows JIC policies as outlined in handbook.
  • Receives training and reacts positively to improve performance of job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures each member of the team supports the safety program by promoting safety and enforcing safety policies
  • Report any injuries or unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately
  • Maintain safe working conditions by keeping work area clean and organized at all times.
  • Daily follow up of QA Daily Whiteboard issues both internal and external.
  • Daily follow up of all change points within the weld department and confirm part quality. (Refer to change point control procedure – WI-MA-377)
  • Calibrated LMI probes / Creaform daily prior to use and according to the manufacturer’s instruction manual. (Notify your supervisor if out of spec)
  • Follow the Datamyte Check Part Handling Procedure for proper part removal from line (WI-WE-2002).
  • Evaluate comp parts in the fixture (inspection / creaform) prior to and after clamping. (no twist allowed)
  • Confirm part is free from deforms, weld locations are correct, and other non-conformities do not exist.
  • Document on the Datamyte and Creaform Quality Check Sheet (WI-QA-304 and Form-QA-67)
  • Confirm all required pin checks meet customer requirements.
  • Collect data on each model parts from each line that is ran within your assigned area. (Correct information must be entered into the collector or creaform prior to taking data – program, build event, line, etc)
  • Return all good parts to the PQ associate (WI-WE-2002).
  • Do not place parts into the shipping container
  • Notify dimensional group if there is any major change from previous collection.
  • Respond to quality calls in the welding department and assist production in the containment of suspect parts.
  • Communicate all Weld Production quality concerns and issues to the Stamping and Quality Management Team (Coordinator, Asst, Manager, Manager)
  • Communicate Stamping quality concerns and issues to Weld Production and Quality Management Team (Coordinator, Asst, Manager, Manager)
  • Assist in weld quality investigations.
  • Communicate findings, containment, temporary and permanent corrective action to the JIC Weld Management Team (Coordinator, Asst, Manager, Manager)
  • Assist with weld jig verification, ensure no worn/loose/missing location pins, net blocks, bushings etc.
  • Report any items that cannot be resolved to your direct supervisor
  • Supports department budgets and costs.
  • Promotes efficient use of time.
  • Review all whiteboard issues daily with associates in your assigned areas.
  • Attend trials required by new model
  • Helps to develop current best practices for quality assurance.
  • Participates in departmental and interdepartmental meetings.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills.
  • Assists with the department business plan.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Accepts job assignments and changes in a positive manner, takes responsibility for own and team’s performance and job assignments.
  • Seeks out new assignments, proposes new work methods and finds better ways to complete tasks.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
