About The Position

Quality Technicians are responsible for monitoring and measuring of product throughout the production process. This position will be responsible for quality control and quality assurance in the laboratory and the plant floor.

Requirements

Must be able to work in a hot, humid environment.
Must be able to lift with both hands weights in excess of 50 pounds
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and budget time accordingly
Must be able to work with chemicals that will give off odors
Experience in high paced work environment
High School Diploma required
Must be able to use Word, Excel, and Access
Must receive training in HACCP
Must understand basic safety issues and used to implement safety programs

Responsibilities

Samples are taken from the production line, label room for testing.
PVS testing is performed for each batch.
Documentation recording of daily quality control of product and process
Testing for pH, viscosity, brix, and other tests required by the QA manager.
Other duties as assigned by Quality Assurance Manager, Plant Management.
Inspection of production lines and departments as needed for QC.
Carry out tests based on quality and critical control points in HACCP.
Work with other departments to be sure communication is clear for corrective actions, non-conformances, and root causes.
Notify manager of problems on the plant floor, quality of products, and food safety.
Procedures for product flow and testing of product updated.
Maintain paperwork and carry out duties as assigned by the manager.
Review paperwork on retort days
Review paperwork as needed
Communicate with USDA inspector as needed.
Keep updated with SQF, USDA, FDA requirements regarding process, product, and procedures.
Testing & verifying the cleanliness of equipment
Work with sanitation to be sure post sanitation testing is completed
