About The Position

The Quality Assurance Lab Technician makes an impact by conducting food safety and quality checks, including sensory, for finished products, work-in-progress, and ingredients to meet specifications. This role involves following established protocols for out-of-specification results, working with and assisting customer departments to maintain product quality, and maintaining proper documentation of lab test results in the lab data management system and on necessary paperwork. The technician will also calibrate lab equipment, obtain samples using proper aseptic methods, and review and evaluate Operations and QA documentation for accuracy and completion. All duties must be performed within established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices, and personal safety guidelines. The role also supports the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Food Safety & Quality program. This position is considered Safety Critical at Turkey Hill, with a zero-tolerance policy for positive drug screens.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must work in a team environment
  • Maintain adherence to work hours scheduled specifically starting, ending, lunch and break schedules
  • Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations and safety guidelines
  • Be accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Nice To Haves

  • Laboratory Experience and/or actively pursuing a degree is preferred.

Responsibilities
