About The Position

Responsible for completing all lab analysis to ensure quality and productivity is maintained. Directly involved in the production process. Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices and good housekeeping guidelines. Must follow safety guidelines, wear designated Personal Protective Equipment and meet OSHA safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be capable of learning and performing various laboratory tests with sensitive instruments and equipment.
  • Must be capable of operating or learning to operate a calculator or CRT terminal to compute test results and/or input data.
  • Must be capable of reading fine graduation on the test bottles and equipment.
  • Must be willing to accept responsibility.
  • Must be willing to learn new process systems as they evolve.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to develop, use, and control the process controls in all areas of the plant.
  • Must be responsible for printing the summary management audits for the shift.
  • Must be able to work around ammonia systems, acid systems, steam systems, and high voltage.
  • Must be able to wear all required PPE including but not limited to safety shoes, hairnet, and hard hat at all times.
  • Must be able to wear gloves, goggles, face shield, ear protection, and/or gars mask as the need arises.
  • Must be able to perform simple math, read and write English.

Responsibilities

  • Daily performance of laboratory tests on cheese and ingredients.
  • Equipment used includes but not limited to microwave ovens, pH meter, analytical and technical balances, magnetized hot salts, calculator, CRT terminal, and various types of glassware and utensils.
  • Maintain work area in an approved housekeeping/sanitary condition.
  • Will be involved using TPM and QIP.
  • Expectation that approximately 70% of work time will be spent on production floor.
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Perform an assignment ask by leaders.
